FFSA Welcomes New Interns!
Cha Inn Moon - February 10, 2014

FFSA would like to welcome two new interns from New York!

As part of our goal to expand our reach across communities, the Foundation has created a new internship programme that recruits students from around the world and provides professional opportunities that produce meaningful impact and change.

Interns are accepted twice a year for a minimum working period of six months where they will work closely with staff in project development, research efforts, and publicity efforts. All candidates must display strong work experience and skillsets as well as show passion and drive to contribute towards the mission of the Foundation.

From January – June 2014, our new interns will be responsible for assisting the team with various projects and developing insight towards the challenges and opportunities present in our Foundation. We are more than excited to have them on board and to get to know them throughout the course of the programme.

Here are some short introductions of each of the interns:

Cha Inn Moon (PR/Communications Intern)

Cha Inn, a senior in New York University, is pursuing a Bachelors of Science in Sports Management with a concentration in Media. She has joined the Football Foundation as the PR/Communications Intern this year to expand the mission of sports for development in South Africa and hopes to utilize the opportunity to learn more about non-profit work in developing countries. She enjoys cooking, travelling and trying out different cuisines.

Mark Johnson (Research & Impact/Photo & Video Intern)

Mark is a 26-year-old graduate of Marist College (Class of 2010), and holds a Bachelors of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing as well as a double minor in Computer Science and Mathematics. In the past three years since graduating college, Mark has worked various jobs ranging from production, to minor construction, to retail, and sports coaching while trying to find meaningful work that best translate his various interests into a career. That is why Mark ultimately decided to join the wonderful team at the Football Foundation of South Africa to travel, get international work experience, work closely with sports, and make a lasting impact on local communities. Being the adventurous sort (along with being a bit of an adrenaline junkie), Mark loves partaking in any and all outdoor and sports related activities, shooting pictures and videos with his beloved GoPro’s, cooking, and spending time with his family and friends.

We look forward to starting the year off with Cha Inn and Mark and we hope to see more students take part in our initiative and be a part of the FFSA team soon!
