The Foundation’s football/soccer programmes lie at the heart of our multi-sport operations. Football training takes place on the Gansbaai Sports Field from Monday to Thursday between 4.00pm and 6.00pm. Experienced coaches Bulelani Mtobela and Mziyanda Matiwane work in unison with international volunteers to run enjoyable but challenging sessions for our under 11, 13, 15 and under 19 teams. Soccer sessions are also active in Stanford and Hermanus as part of our school programmes.

The Foundation’s hockey programme is implemented from Monday to Thursday each week, with training sessions taught from 3.30pm till 5.30pm. Shereen Van De Merwe is the foundation’s dedicated Hockey coach, assisted by volunteers. The programme is popular with children aged 7-13, and takes place in Gansbaai, Stanford and Hermanus.

Our athletics programme, headed by Corrie Avenant, takes place on the Gansbaai Sports Field. The programme is active for three months per annum and takes place Monday to Thursday between 4.00pm and 6.00pm. The programme offers coaching on all track and field events and cross-country running, with the children taking part in competitions between May and July. These sessions remain popular among those aged from 9, right through to 19.

Our netball programme is run by Anchelle Damon, and takes place in Stanford on Mondays and Wednesdays between 2.00pm and 3.30pm. The programme also takes place at the Gansbaai Sports Field, utilising its netball courts on Tuesday and Thursday between 3.30pm -5.30pm. The Under 10 and Under 13 teams maintain healthy numbers throughout the winter and spring seasons.
